Unhooked ("we," "us") helps people quit nicotine. We built the app to be private by default. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your choices.

What we collect

• Your quit profile and activity: the answers you give during onboarding (what you're quitting, your reasons, triggers, spend) and your in-app activity (streak, craving logs, milestones). This is stored on your device. If you sign in, it also syncs to your own private iCloud (CloudKit) account, which we cannot read.
• Account identity (optional): if you choose Sign in with Apple, we store the stable Apple user identifier and the first name you share. We never request your email.
• Subscription status: purchases are processed by Apple. We use RevenueCat to read whether your subscription is active. We never see your card or full Apple ID.
• Usage analytics: we use PostHog to understand which features help people quit (screen views, taps, funnel completion). These events are tied to a random identifier, not your name.
• Coach messages: when you use the in-app craving coach, your messages are processed by our hosted service to generate a reply. We keep the coach context free of identifying details beyond your first name and quit context.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

Why we collect it

To provide the app's core features (tracking, reminders, coaching), to sync your data across your devices, to process your subscription, and to improve the product.

Who we share it with

Service providers that operate the app on our behalf: Apple (purchases, iCloud), RevenueCat (subscription status), PostHog (analytics), and our coach model provider. Each processes data only to provide their service.

Your choices and rights

• Delete your data: in the app, go to Profile, then Account & backup, then Delete account. This erases your iCloud backup and on-device data. You can also delete the app to remove on-device data.
• Manage your subscription: Settings, then your name, then Subscriptions; or Profile, then Manage subscription.
• Lock the app: enable Face ID or passcode lock in Profile to keep your data private.

Data retention

On-device and iCloud data persist until you delete your account or the app. Analytics events are retained per our analytics provider's standard retention.

Children

Unhooked concerns nicotine cessation and is intended for adults. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under the age required in your region to purchase nicotine products.
